Licensing

How our software is sold

We are paid by the people who use what we build. Some products are free, some are a one-time purchase, and some are licensed by subscription — and the model is always stated on the product's own page, with the price, before you download anything.

02Included

What every licence includes

Regardless of which model a product uses, these are not extras and never appear as a line item.

  1. 01

    Security and compatibility updates

For as long as a version is supported, fixes and OS-compatibility work reach you at no extra charge.

  2. 02

Every platform the product ships on

A licence covers the product, not one operating system. If we publish it for desktop and mobile, your licence covers both.

  3. 03

Support from the people who wrote it

Questions go to the team that built the software, not to an outsourced first line.

  4. 04

    No advertising, no data sale

We are paid by the people who use the software. That is the entire business model, which is why there is nothing else in the app.

03Questions

Asked and answered

What happens to a one-time licence when a new major version ships?

Your licence keeps working, and keeps receiving fixes for as long as that version is supported. A new major version is a separate purchase, usually with an upgrade price for existing owners.

If I cancel a subscription, do I lose my files?

No. Anything you created stays yours and stays readable. We do not use a file format that becomes unopenable when a licence lapses.

How many devices does one licence cover?

It is stated on each product page under Licensing, because it depends on the product. Where a product is aimed at individuals, it covers the devices that person uses.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes, within the period stated in the licence agreement. Where a product has a trial, we would rather you used it than relied on a refund.

Can I buy licences for a team or an organisation?

Yes. Volume and organisational licensing is handled directly — write to [email protected].

Terms

The full terms are in the licence agreement.

This page describes how we sell software in plain language. Where the two differ, the licence agreement is what governs your use.
