Overview

Most reading apps are built for the first session. MTK Quran is built for the thousandth: it opens where you left off, holds its position, and never asks you to sign in to read a book.

The Android build is complete and in testing. iPad and iPhone are next, then desktop for people who prefer to read on a larger screen.

03Features

What it does

  1. 01

The complete text, on the device

Nothing to download on first open and nothing to load between surahs. Installing the app is the whole setup.

  2. 02

    Recitation that follows the line

Audio and text stay in step, so you can listen and read the same verse without hunting for your place.

  3. 03

    Typography sized for long reading

Generous line height and adjustable size, tuned so the Arabic stays legible rather than merely small.

  4. 04

    It remembers where you stopped

Reopening returns you to the exact verse. Bookmarks are for passages you choose to keep, not a substitute for that.

  5. 05

    Search that takes any input

A surah name, an ayah number, or a phrase — all from the same field.

  6. 06

    Readable at night

A real dark theme, not an inverted light one, with contrast that holds at low brightness.

04Story

Why it exists

Background

We started this because the apps we tried all did the same two things wrong. They treated a text people return to daily as a feed to be refreshed, and they treated a network connection as a given.

So the constraints came first: the full text ships inside the app, nothing loads on open, and no screen depends on a request completing. Everything else was designed after those were true.

07Questions

Asked and answered

Does it work without an internet connection?

Yes. The text is part of the app. Recitation audio is downloaded once per reciter you choose, after which that too works offline.

Is there an iPhone or iPad version?

Not yet. iOS is the next platform we are building for. It will appear on this page, with a download, as soon as it is ready.

How do I know the APK on this site is the real build?

Every file we host is published with a SHA-256 digest shown next to the download. Verify the file after downloading and the two should match.
